The power of now

Ever been so worried about the thoughts and feelings others had towards you, that you hide who you really are just to be cool? Have you ever felt like the outcast in a crowd and felt so alone, that all you ever started to crave was just someone to notice you? I sense we have all been there before. I am currently seeing someone close to me drown himself because of this. I feel like the world has revolved around social media and a popularity contest that we forget the meaning of feelings and values to a person's life. This is why mental breakdowns are more frequent now and days then in the past. The matrtalistic world really test us and brings our ego to an extent of rupturing ourselves. Till we can learn to let the ego go and be in the now and find ourselves you can not be happy with were you are weather you are the person in the crowd or alone. Our thoughts come and go a lot and our brain filters what we want to think about, and we often let negative thoughts invade our brains and take over our lives. But the good thing is, we have control over this. I read a book "The Power Of Now" by Eckhart Tolle and he says "To the ego, the present moment hardly exists. Only past and future are considered important. This total reversal of the truth accounts for the fact that in the ego mode, the mind is so dysfunctional. It is always concerned with keeping the past alive, because without it-who are you?" We need to be an observer of our thoughts and live in the now. With this we can overcome any negativity in our lives. Because without us feeding our ego there is no negativity to ponder on anymore. But also if you know someone in need of love or a little push for them to be who they are, please help them express it! Let's not let anyone feel alone, because no matter how much it is up to them to make the change we can always be their supporter. Would like to end this blog off with a quote by the same author of power of now which I highly recommend to all of you to read: "The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it"
